Worked in lab on literary analysis essays. HW: If you do not have your quotes yet, or need better ones, make sure you gather them tonight. If you have been missing classes due to field trips, make sure you budget your time. You will have tomorrow in the lab to do this (some of you) and Monday and Tuesday in the lab. The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, June 4th for this paper. Look at previous posts if you need to see the assignment again.
Planned literary analysis essays in class. See previous post for handouts. HW: Make sure you have 3-5 quotes from your book ready to use as evidence in each of your body paragraphs. Don't forget to record page numbers when you find your quotes.
All classes: HW: Practice writing thesis statement for your essay assignment using the attached handout. You need to show me at least 3 attempts. Here is the example of a formula to write them. Remember your thesis statement is in response to one of the prompts. Your paper will only be about 1 prompt, but while you are practicing you could try a few prompts and see which one comes out the best. Elephant Run prompts. Tom Sawyer prompts.
