Went over homework on paragraph coherence. Began mid year writing assessment. At this point everyone should have given me the title of their new SSR book and should be carrying it around. If you finish your writing assessment early, you will be expected to read your SSR book. HW: Select 2 quotes from you SSR book and write dialectical journal in new blue book you received today in class. Pay careful attention to your selection of quotes. I'm expecting you to first give me context (what's going on-keep this part brief. Notice something literary about quote (characterization is probably the easiest to find) and then tell me what it shows. Please follow these instructions. Your journals will be collected and graded before February vacation.

Shared 6-word memoirs about literature circle books. Talked about characteristics of flash fiction. Responded to prompts (3 options) 1. Use the sentence "The nurse left work at five o'clock" as your opening line or 2. Write it as one or more messages left on an answering machine or 3. You choose topic.
